What helps
- Which device you are on: Mac, iPhone or iPad, and its OS version.
- How the unit is connected: USB to the Mac, Bluetooth to the phone, or through a Mac that is sharing it.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- On the Mac, the output of the self-test, which checks the whole path to the device without the interface:
/Applications/Ohmage.app/Contents/MacOS/Ohmage --selftest
Before you write
The unit is not found on the Mac. It has to be connected to the Mac over USB. Creative's own software does not need to be installed, and it is better if it is not running at the same time.
The phone is not found. The Sound Blaster looks for the phone, not the other way round, so the app has to be open and in the foreground while it does. Bluetooth permission is needed; nothing has to be paired in Settings.
A shared unit has disappeared. When the Mac sharing it has been updated, it may need pairing again. Open Connections on either machine and follow the six digits.

- CrystalVoice microphone processing.
- Staying connected to the unit while the iPhone app is in the background. The link is released and rebuilt on return, which costs a few seconds.
