Ohmage collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, and no server of ours for it to talk to.

What stays on your devices

Everything the app knows lives on the device running it: which units it has seen, which other machines you have paired it with, and the settings it last read from your Sound Blaster. None of that leaves your devices except as described below, and none of it reaches us.

The two permissions it asks for

Bluetooth, on iPhone and iPad. The app publishes itself over Bluetooth so that a Sound Blaster can find it and connect. It does not scan for other devices, and it does not record which devices are nearby.

Local network, on iPhone and iPad, and only if you pair with a Mac that is sharing a unit. The app uses it to find that Mac and to talk to it. The connection is encrypted with a key that exists only on the two machines you paired, and the pairing is confirmed by you comparing six digits on both screens.

What a paired machine can see

A Mac sharing a unit sends the unit's current settings to the machines you have paired with it, and accepts changes from them. It does not send anything else about the Mac or its user, and it offers only devices physically attached to it.

Shortcuts and Siri

The app's actions run on your device through Apple's Shortcuts and Siri. Apple's own privacy terms govern what those services record; the app itself keeps nothing about how or when its actions are run.

If any of this changes, this page will say so, and the change will be in the app's release notes.
